Shades of Grey Only two different civilizations inhabit the world of Rone. The Yang, people with black hair and black eyes, inhabit the South and West. The Yin, people with white hair and red eyes, inhabit the North and the East. These two communities both forgo all interactions with anyone but themselves, suspicious of the other's differences. It was a sort of hatred that was not consciously acknowledged or spoken about but was simply, naturally there.

One stormy, dark night, a small, strange child with silver hair and grey eyes was found, wandering the streets of Yang with no apparent destination. A lone Yang took in the child, unofficially adopting and

Ode to the Sky I’ve always marveled in awe at the sky,
always so eternally blue,
always so magnificently high
with a special hue.

Exclaiming in delight
as the sky is revealed in the morning light,
I could not deny
the beauty of the sky.

As day turns to night
and the stars spring alight,
I felt the solemn kindness of the sky
always shining down on me and mine.

The sky, always so eternally blue,
is always there for me and you.
